REYNOLDS FAMILY ON ASSIGNMENT/GUATEMALA
GREETINGS FAMILY AND FRIENDS
I do not know if your year was like ours, a whirlwind~ fast and furious. We do feel like we had just been here in the U.S. and we are back again. So far we have been in 23 States and visited many family member’s friends and churches.
Job 42:5 “I have heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you.”
I love this verse for many reasons, after all Job had gone through, the loss of almost everything in his life. His report is he has now seen God, he did not come out of the fire bitter, angry or even cursing God. Rather he came out saying, ‘now I have seen God.’ I too want to see Him; can I find Him in the storm as much as I find Him in the sunset? I do not want to just hear about Him but I want to see Him!!!
We closed out our year of teams with “Team Paul”. He is one man that comes but he has an amazing wife and friends that get behind him. So that when he comes, he does the work of a team! One of the huge blessings that he sponsors is our annual Independence Day run. We had 150 people sign up to run the 7 miles, plus a truck full of encouragers! Prizes were awarded and we had a wonderful meal of tamales. Paul shared a solid word. The highlight of the day was a young man who took John aside after it all was over and said, “I did not come for the race or for the food but for prayer, I knew you would be able to help me here” Delmer prayed and accepted Jesus into his heart that evening!!!
We were able to add another full-time staff person this year for the youth center. What a huge blessing. Please remember to pray for each one; Carlos & Kimy, Edgar, Abner, Jose, Loyda, Nancy and Ruso (part time). Also, Rafael is the full-time nurse we employ in the villages. Pedro (Kiara’s husband) oversees the clinic and visits several times a month.
Two huge news items for our family: Silas graduated from high school in September and he has now transitioned back into the United States after living in Guatemala since he was 5 years old. He has enlisted in the United States Air Force (He will be our 3rd son to serve in the military). Silas will start boot camp the 10th of January.
Secondly Caleb and Caitlin had their second son September 30th and his name is Samuel! We could not be more excited.
Please pray for us as we travel and speak in churches and share with friends the vision of Cross Commission and how people can partner with us to be a part of what God is doing in Guatemala. Please ask the Lord what you can do…
We love you all so much~
