REYNOLDS FAMILY ON ASSIGNMENT/GUATEMALA
GREETINGS FAMILY AND FRIENDS
Have you ever been in a place where you have nowhere to turn but to Him? That the only option you have is to trust God. Like the children of Israel caught between the Egyptian army and Red Sea, Daniel in the Lion’s den the 3 Hebrews in the fiery furnace, the list goes on. Live or die we are His. We pray hard and trust God.
PLEASE PRAY FOR DONNA
For years Donna has had back issues but recently it was taken to a whole new level. Flat out on her back, not able to move because of excruciating pain in her back, waiting for an appointment with a spinal specialist but knowing the healing is ultimately God’s. Carried to the truck on a make shift stretcher, making the 4 hour trip to the City, praying with all her heart for God’s mercy… Spinal specialist MRI 3 herniated discs in the lumbar one bulged higher in the back. Physical therapy: starting to walk again, wow, she is a big girl now she can go to the bathroom by herself! Ten days in the City in physical therapy. We are so thankful for the Lord’s many blessings through this whole thing. Dear friends opened their home to us so we did not have to stay in a hotel. We are home now but it is very difficult slowing down to heal. Please continue to pray for her complete healing.
Meanwhile the ministry at the youth center and many various outreaches continue…
A FEW HIGHLIGHTS
This past year we have had numerous kids come in that like to “Break Dance” so we decided to host a “Break Dance” competition. We enlisted judges and purchased prizes. Ten signed up for the competition and over 100 kids attended the event. We also shared the Word and served food afterwards. One outcome is three more young ladies now attend a Bible study here. We look forward to hosting another competition that will be even bigger. God is creative through us, if we allow Him to be.
The annual Valentine bonfire-hotdog roast brought in over 100 kids. It was a time of worship and sharing the Word on what true love really is. It was a very special time.
With the new/used added weight equipment, we are now seeing 100-150 people each day, which brings in many new faces to the Bible studies.
Our bi-annual camping trip was in April with 45 participating. It is a packed full weekend of games, team activities and sharing the Word, with humorous times through out the weekend. Two young ladies came forward to be baptized, which the young people see as a very serious commitment. We rejoice in all God is doing in so many lives through the Youth Center.
DISCIPLING THE NEXT GENERATION
We were introduced to a very cool daily Bible reading and journal program (Thank you pastor Kirk). So we purchased numerous journal notebooks and have begun this program in two of the Bible studies. It is amazing to see the impact this has had on their lives. It is helping them to stay accountable to reading the Word each day and writing about what God spoke to their heart in that time. These young men and ladies will be turning the tide and culture in Guatemala to a more Godly culture. We are so incredibly blessed to be a part of what God is doing here.
SHORT TERM MISSION TEAMS
We are gearing up for our first team of the year. It will be a medical / stove team. They have raised the money for 20 stoves, which they will personally install with help from numerous young people from the youth center. They will stay in a remote village for 4 days and 3 nights. Also they will be holding medical clinics during those days. They will experience and see things first hand they never expected. We pray their hearts will be forever changed for the gospel.
We ask that you would continue to pray for us. The harvest is ripe; help us equip these young people to be ministers of the gospel. We long for the Father to say ‘well done my good and faithful servants.’
Please consider supporting us on a monthly bases for a special event. We try to do a special event each month. It brings in some people that may not ordinarily come to the Zona. These events are extra from the monthly budget.
Another need: 3 young ladies ages 13, 14 and 15 recently were left orphans. Their mom died about 3 years ago and their father passed away a few months ago. A local family that is distantly related has taken them in but they are a poor family with already 18 people living there. We want these girls to continue in school so we have taken on their school needs. At present the cost is around $100 a month for all three. They are in local public education so no transportation cost at the present. If you would like to help out with these orphan girls let us know.
We love you all so much~
